Key Technologies in Waterborne Automotive Spray Booths

Author:

Automotive spray booths are generally used for spraying and baking automotive paint, and are customarily called "automotive baking paint booths, spray paint baking booths." As the name suggests, it involves spraying and baking the paint on a specific object in a designated room [1]. With the rapid development of the automotive industry, the consumption of automotive coatings has been steadily increasing. Currently, domestic automotive coatings are mainly solvent-based, and the large amount of VOCs causes increasingly serious environmental pollution [2]. Countries around the world have successively formulated relevant regulations to limit the emission of VOCs in coatings. Currently, the domestic automotive coating industry is gradually catching up with developed countries abroad, adopting joint ventures and cooperation to introduce advanced automotive coating production lines [3]. In order to meet environmental protection standards, automotive coating is developing towards water-based, high-solids, and powder coatings, with water-based technology being one of the most effective approaches. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, the application of environmentally friendly water-based coatings is inevitable. Against this backdrop, the development of water-based automotive spray booths has been provided with a huge market space. Therefore, this article studies the basic principles and key technologies of modern water-based automotive spray booths, which has profound social significance.
